Christmas Crackers. We jumped at the opportunity to perform a medley of our favourite Ballets, We performed extracts from:- 'The Nutcracker', 'Stepping out to Gershwin', 'Swan Lake' and 'The Sleeping Beauty'.

OUR PRINCIPALS 

For the 2011 performance of The Nutcracker were:-

Elena Glurdjidze. Princess Aurora - Elena Glurdjidze was born in Tbilisi, Georgia and trained at the Tbilisi Choreographic School, Vaganova St Petersburg and the Academy of Russian Ballet

After Graduation she joined the Russian Ballet Company and performed with the St Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theatre and the St Petersburg Ballet Theatre of Konstatin Tatchkin. She joined English National Ballet in 2002 and became Senior Principal in 2007.

Her career highlights include creating the Gypsy Girl in Michael Corder's The Snow Queen and Virginia in The Canterville Ghost, performing in Katie Melua's It's Only Painand appearing in the BBC's The Impressionists. Elenas awards include winning the 8th Paris International Competition of soloists (1998), the Best Partner award at the 7th Perm Open Competition (2002) and the 2007 and 2008 Ballet.co.uk Audience Poll for Best Female Dancer. Junor Souza Prince Florimund - Junor was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and started dancing aged 7. He trained at the Escola de Danca and the English National Ballet School before joiningEnglish National Ballet in 2008.

He became a First Artist in 2010 and a Junior Soloist in 2011. His favourite roles include dancing as the Prince in 'The Nutcracker' at the London Coliseum, as Albrecht in 'Giselle' and Romeo in Nureyev's'Romeo and Juliet'. He was nominated for the 2012 Emerging Dancer Competition. He is a talented singer and has performed in the Roseta Mauri Competition. English National Ballet
